Anxiety that stays after the cause is gone

Free 30-minute consultation. Evenings and weekends.

Stress has a cause outside you — a deadline, a move, a diagnosis. Remove it and stress goes. Anxiety often doesn’t work that way. It stays after the cause is gone.

The Mind People is a psychoanalytic psychotherapy practice on South Sheridan Way in Oakville. Psychoanalytic therapy works with what sits underneath a recurring pattern, over time.

How we work

Our clinicians are trained in psychoanalytic, depth-oriented psychotherapy. Rather than managing symptoms one at a time, the work looks at where a pattern comes from and why it keeps returning. That takes time: most clients meet weekly, and meaningful change typically unfolds over months rather than weeks. If you want to understand yourself, not only cope better, this is the kind of therapy built for that.

What the free consultation is

  • 30 minutes, no cost, no obligation to book anything further

  • With a Consultation Care Coordinator — who will complete an analysis of best fit to match you with a therapist that best suits your needs

  • You talk through what brought you here and ask whatever you want

  • You leave with a written recommendation: which Registered Psychotherapist (CRPO) fits, and why

  • Virtual, by video, or in person

What therapy costs here

  • Individual sessions $135–$215, depending on the clinician

  • Private pay. Many extended health plans cover part of psychotherapy.

  • The consultation itself is free.

After you submit

  • We call you the same business day to book your consultation (after hours: first thing the next business day)

  • We’ll ask for a few times that work for you

  • Your information stays confidential
